Big Blue Baseball Falls in Twin Bill

          The Millikin baseball team lost a doubleheader to Carthage College on April 28 at Sunnyside Park in Decatur, Illinois.  Carthage won game one 11-10 and took game two 9-7.
          In game one, Millikin trailed 9-5 after seven innings.  The Big Blue rallied with five runs in the eighth to take a 10-9 advantage.  The Red Men answered with a two-run home run from Vince Schwartz to pull out the win.
          Luke Azzarelli was 4-4 for Millikin with two home runs and a double.  Azzarelli had five RBI and scored twice.  Devin Crews was 2-5 with an RBI.  Jon Walters homered for Millikin. Julian Gutierrez was 2-4 with two runs scored and two RBI. 
          Myles Farley was 2-3 for Carthage with a home run and two RBI. Cody Phelps also homered for the Red Men.
          Millikin tried to make another comeback in game two with a four run eighth inning, but the Big Blue could never overcome Carthage's lead.
          Hunter Wenstrom was 3-5 for the Big Blue.  Jake Drada had two hits and two walks along with three RBI.  Crews was 2-3 with two runs scored.
          Clayton Taylor had a grand slam to highlight a Carthage five run fifth inning.  Ryan Kramer was 2-5 with a home run and two RBI and Nick Pierce was 2-4 with a triple.
          Millikin is now 16-19, 6-15 while Carthage improves to 26-8, 13-6.
          The teams conclude the series on Sunday, April 29 at 12 p.m.
