Big Blue Baseball Knocks Off Titans

          The Millikin baseball team finally caught a break from the crazy spring weather returning to action with a 6-1 win at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois on April 5.
          Millikin got on the board in the first inning when junior second baseman Jon Walters hit his eighth home run of the season.  The Big Blue added a run in the third on a Mason Bruce sacrifice fly scoring Devin Crews who reached on a single.  Trailing 2-1 in the fourth, Millikin added a run on a run scoring fielder's choice from Crews.
          Millikin added an unearned run in the seventh and two insurance runs in the ninth.  Walters tripled and scored on an RBI single from Andrew Auton.  Luke Azzarelli had a bases loaded walk to drive in the final run.
          Millikin starter Ben Williamson earned the win throwing nine innings allowing six hits and one run while striking out eight.
          Walters was 3-4 with a home run and a triple. Bruce was 3-2.
          John Bosco and Jake Stewart each had two hits for Illinois Wesleyan.
          Millikin is now 11-8, 1-4 while Illinois Wesleyan falls to 11-9, 2-5.
          Millikin is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, April 6 hosting Elmhurst College in a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Sunnyside Park.
