Millikin Baseball Downs Augustana

         The Millikin baseball team defeated Augustana College 8-3 on May 1 at Sunnyside Park in Decatur.
         Millikin scored two runs in the bottom of the first to tie the game at 2-2.  The Big Blue scored on an RBI double from Jake Drada and a run scoring single from Jon Walters.
         The Vikings answered with a single run in the top of the second, but Millikin took the lead for good in the bottom of the inning scoring twice.  Devin Crews had an RBI double and Drada picked up an RBI single.  Millikin scored three runs in the fifth inning. Mason Bruce and Andrew Auton had RBI singles and Hunter Wenstrom had a sacrifice fly.  Millikin's final run came in the sixth on a sacrifice fly from Anthony Bryan.
         Crews went 3-5 in the game.  He extended his school record for hits in a season to 63. Drada was 3-3 with two RBI and two runs scored. Bruce and Walters each had two hits.
         Millikin's Jared Buzan was the winner in relief throwing two and a third inning allowing no runs on one hit.  Nick Followell pitched the final two scoreless innings allowing two hits.
         John Moraski and Jack Hallmark had two hits each for the Vikings.
         Millikin improves to 17-20, 7-16 while Augustana goes to 23-13, 11-10.
         Millikin will play its final home date on Friday, May 4 hosting Greenville University in a doubleheader at 3 p.m.  The games were originally scheduled for Thursday, but have been pushed back a day due to storms in the forecast on Thursday.
