The Millikin University women's volleyball team traveled to Greencastle, Indiana for the DePauw Tigers Invitational this weekend. They began the tournament with a three set loss to Transylvania University (24-26, 17-25, 20-25).
The Big Blue were led by Marissa McElroy with 12 kills, and Emily Seegmiller added 11. Rose Syversen was the team's assists leader with 28, and Alyssa Vignos led Millikin in digs with 14.
In their second match of the night, the Big Blue was taken down by the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in four sets (27-29, 25-19, 25-27, 19-25).
Lauren Brummel led Millikin in kills with 14, Seegmiller added 12, and McElroy chipped in 11. Syversen tallied 41 assists, and Vignos led the Big Blue in digs with 26.
The Big Blue falls to 4-5 on the season. They take on Earlham College and Concordia University Chicago on day two of the DePauw Tigers Invitational.
