Big Blue Men Score Road Win at Carthage

         The Millikin men's basketball team scored a historic road win at Carthage College 69-59 on January 5 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. It was the first Millikin win at Carthage since 1994 and broke an 11 game losing streak against the Red Men.
         With the game tied at 16-16 with 11:14 left in the first half, Millikin took control of the game with an 11-3 run to make it 29-19 with 7:31 left in the first half. The Big Blue lead 42-34 at halftime. Millikin turnovers let the Red Men back in the game in the second half with Carthage closing to 55-53 with 7:07 left in the game. Millikin never relinquished its lead and lead 60-57 with 1:54 remaining when Zach Fisher hit a three-pointer as the shot clock expired to give Millikin breathing room at 63-57.
         Millikin shot 44 percent from the field including 50 percent in the first half.  The Big Blue hit 6-10 from three-point range in the first half, but cooled off in the second half ending the night 7-14 from beyond the arc. Carthage hit 41.5 percent from the field and went 5-17 from three-point range. The Big Blue dominated the rebounding battle 43-26.
         Elijah Henry led Millikin with a double double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Fisher scored 14 followed by DaVante Harrell with 10.
         Kienan Baltimore led Carthage with 18 points followed by Jordan Kedrowski with 16.
         Millikin is now 8-5, 2-3 while Carthage goes to 6-8, 1-4.
         Millikin will host Wheaton College on January 9 at 7 p.m.
