Big Blue Men’s Basketball Scores Road Win

          The Millikin University men's basketball team scored its first win of the season winning at Illinois College 67-66 on November 23 in Jacksonville, Illinois.
          Millikin's Calvin Fisher hit two free throws with three seconds left to secure the Big Blue victory.  Millikin shot 54 percent (25-46) from the field including making 10-15 (66.7 percent) from three-point range. 
          The game was a tight one throughout with 14 lead changes and 11 ties.  Illinois College led 30-29 at halftime.  Trailing 46-44 with 13:07 left in the game, Millikin went on a 16-2 run to build a 60-48 advantage with 7:56 left in the game.  The run was started by five straight points from sophomore guard Jake Hampton.  Illinois College fought back and tied game at 64-64 with 59 seconds left on a basket from Tre Rogers.
          Millikin freshman Sam Stichnote would make one of two from the line to give Millikin a 65-64 lead.  Rogers would again connect for Illinois College to make it 66-65 setting the stage for Fisher's game winning free throws.
          Hampton led Millikin with 19 points including going 5-6 from three point range.  Fisher had 14 points and eight assists.  Troy Burrows added 11 points.  Freshman Cole Laurence had eight points and eight rebounds.
          Trae Robinson III led Illinois College with 15 points followed by Jake Mazrimas with 14 and Rogers with 13.
          Millikin is now 1-4 while Illinois College falls to 2-3.
          Millikin will host Alma College on Monday, November 25 at 7 p.m.
