Millikin Women’s Basketball Loses at Augustana

         The Millikin women's basketball team lost at Augustana College 62-53 on February 9 in Rock Island, Illinois.
         The game featured eight lead changes with eight ties. Augustana lead 12-11 at the end of the first quarter and 28-26 at halftime. The Vikings outscored the Big Blue 22-15 in the third quarter building a nine point advantage at the end of the quarter. Both teams scored 12 points in the fourth quarter. Neither team shot the ball well from the field. Millikin went 19-60 (32 percent) from the field and was 2-21 from three-point range. Augustana went 19-58 (33 percent) from the field and 4-18 from beyond the arc. The Vikings went 20-31 from the free throw line while Millikin made 7-8.
         Sophomore Jordan Hildebrand led Millikin with a career high 28 points. She grabbed 10 rebounds. Aubrey Magro added 10 points for the Big Blue.
         Alexis Jones led the Vikings with 22 points and nine rebounds. Scooter Lopez added 12 points.
         Millikin is now 8-15, 4-10 while the Vikings go to 13-11, 7-8. The Big Blue close out the season with home games against conference leader Wheaton College on February 13 and North Park on February 16.
