Big Blue Softball Win Streak Up to Nine

         The Millikin women's softball team extended its winning streak to nine straight games posting wins over Buena Vista and Wisconsin-La Crosse on March 16 in Tucson, Arizona. The Big Blue end its Arizona trip with a 10-2 record.
         Millikin defeated Buena Vista 11-4. The Big Blue opened the game with a five run first inning and added a single run in the third and five more in the sixth inning. The Big Blue took advantage of four Buena Vista errors in the first inning.
         Kailey Lyons and Taylor Jordan lead the Millikin attack. Lyons was 3-3 and Jordan went 3-4. Bailey Gowin, Kalli Farmer and Maggie Comerford each had two hits. Gowin and Comerford each picked up an RBI. Kelsey Farmer and Alyssa White each had two runs batted in.
         Freshman Aly Armstrong was the winning pitcher and Rachel Patting threw three innings of scoreless relief.
         The Big Blue defeated Wisconsin-La Crosse 10-2. The Big Blue lead 4-2 after three innings before scoring six runs in the seventh inning.
         Lyons was 3-4 in the game with two RBI and White was 3-4 with one run driven in. Gowin, Kalli Farmer and Kelsey Farmer each had two hits with an RBI.
         Patting was the winning pitcher with five innings of scoreless relief allowing only four hits.
