Millikin Softball Rolls Past Gorlocks

         The #23 ranked Millikin University softball team extended its winning streak to 11 straight games sweeping a doubleheader over Webster University on March 20 at the Workman Family Softball Field in Decatur, Illinois. The Big Blue won game one 14-0 and took the second game 10-0 with both games going only five innings.
         In game one, Millikin jumped out to an early lead with two runs in the first inning. The Big Blue added eight runs in the third inning and four runs in the fourth.
         Taylor Jordan led the Millikin attack going 3-3 with two runs scored and one run batted in. Skielyr Trenkle went 2-2 with a triple scoring two runs and driving home two. Bailey Gowin had two hits and one RBI while Alyssa White went 2-3. Kalli Farmer had a triple and two RBIs.
         Rachel Patting was the winning pitcher throwing three and one-third innings allowing one hit while striking out four. Josie Magnabosco pitched one and two-thirds innings allowing one hit.
         Millikin scored early again in game two scoring three runs in each of the first two innings. The Big Blue added a single run in the third and three more in the fourth.
         White had two hits and two RBI for the Big Blue. Maggie Comerford went 2-2 with two runs scored. Cassidy Knoerzer was 2-3 with a triple and an RBI. Kelsey Farmer had two RBI. Jordan and Kailey Pulec each tripled.
         Aly Armstrong was the winning pitcher in relief throwing two hitless innings.
         Millikin is now 12-2 while Webster falls to 1-11.
         The Big Blue play at Greenville University on Thursday.
