Baseball Falls to #9 Texas Lutheran

Big Blue baseball dropped the first game of a three game series Friday night to #9 Texas Lutheran, 7-0.

Texas Lutheran jumped out to an early lead in the bottom of the first inning, 2-0 and added four more in the second to take a 6-0 lead. After the first two innings, Millikin settled in during the middle of the game and starting pitcher Connor Gross battled the pesky TLU hitters, not allowing another run until he was replaced by Nick Followell after the end of the sixth inning. Millikin hitters were able to produce seven hits, but stranded eleven runners on the day. Millikin first baseman Kyle Kane was the leading hitter for the Big Blue on the day, going 2-4 with a double.

TLU added another run in the bottom of the eighth to make the score 7-0, but the Big Blue weren't able to rally in the ninth, stranding two runners to end the game.

The Big Blue are back in action for game two of the three game set tomorrow at 1pm.
