Millikin Baseball Wins CCIW Opener

         The Millikin baseball team won its opening game in the 2019 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Baseball Tournament 10-3 over North Park University on May 9 at Lee Pfund Field in Carol Stream, Illinois.
         The Big Blue took control of the game early scoring once in the first and three times in the second.  Jake Stanton led the Millikin attack with three hits including a double and two-run home run. Jon Walters went 3-4 with a double. Kyle Kane had two including a double and Mason Bruce had two hits with a triple.
         Adam Zuk was the winning pitcher throwing six and two-thirds innings allowing three runs on seven hits with five strikeouts.
         The win was the first Big Blue win in the CCIW Tournament since 1990.
         Millikin faces two seed Augustana College today at 3 p.m.
