Millikin Volleyball Opens Season with Split

         The Millikin volleyball team opened the 2019 season a pair of games at the Stevens Invitational in Hoboken, New Jersey on August 30.
         The Big Blue opened with a 3-0 win over the Stevens University 25-19, 25-19 and 28-26.
         Senior Marissa McElroy led the Big Blue with 12 kills followed by freshman Tori Stuart with 11. Rose Syversen had a 32 set assists and a team high 17 digs.  Kelsey McAtee had 14 digs followed by Sarah Porter with 13.
         Millikin lost its second game 3-0 to Johns Hopkins 25-16, 25-14, 33-31.
         McElroy had 11 kills and Syversen had 17 assists and 17 digs.
         Simone Bliss and Louisa Kishton each had 15 kills to lead Johns Hopkins.
         Millikin plays on Saturday against Roger Williams University at 11 a.m.
