DECATUR, Ill. - The second day of the Millikin University Fall Invitational wrapped up Saturday evening at the Griswold Center, where the Big Blue would split matches on the day. Millikin improves to 5-4 on the season as Senior Setter
Rose Syversen posts her 2,000th career assist.
Millikin's first opponent of the day would be the Falcons from Concordia University - Wisconsin, and would take five sets to decide a winner. Millikin would take the first set with a score of 25-18, but the Falcons would come back to win sets two and three, 25-22, 25-17, respectively. The Big Blue would force a fifth set to be played after winning the fourth set 25-16, but would fall in the fifth 15-7 to bring the match final to a 3-2 Concordia victory.
In the final match of the weekend, the Big Blue would face Greenville University, and would win the match in four sets with a final score of 3-1. After being ahead 2-0 going into the third set, Greenville was able to pull off a 25-19 win over the Big Blue to send the match into the fourth set, which Millikin would win 25-22 to finish 3-1 on the weekend.
Peyton Jackson led the match with a season-high 20 kills against Greenville, recording 62 kills on the season.
Rose Syversen led the match with season-high 43 assists and 15 digs, posting a team-high 287 assists on the year.
