Women's Soccer Draws with UW - Whitewater

DECATUR, Ill. - Millikin Women's Soccer were back at Frank M. Lindsay Field Saturday afternoon as they played host to University of Wisconsin - Whitewater. Two overtimes would be needed to decide a winner, but neither teams would capitalize and the match would end in a draw.

The first half saw the Big Blue outshoot Whitewater 5-2, helping put Millikin on the board first in the 25th minute. Maddy Wood would give Millikin their lone goal of the game off of a pass from Amanda Noser, giving the sophomore her third goal on the season.

Millikin would start the second half with a 1-0 lead on the Warhawks, but would concede the tying goal in the 66th minute of the match on a Katy Kusswurm shot that found the back of the net off of the finger tips of goalkeeper Jennifer Miller.

With a tie at the end of regulation, the game would require two overtime periods to be played, much like the men's soccer match that took place earlier this week. No goals would be scored in overtime, and the Big Blue would post their first tie of the season with the Warhawks.

Millikin is back in action at Frank M. Lindsay Field on Saturday, September 28th at 12:00 PM as they face North Central College in a CCIW matchup.
