BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Millikin Women's Volleyball traveled up Route 51 to Bloomington, Illinois Saturday to compete in the Holiday Inn Classic, hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University. The Big Blue would fall to Sewanee and University of Chicago, bringing their record to 2-3 on the year. 

In the first match of the day, Millikin would face Sewanee, winning the first set 25-23. Sewanee would go on to win the next three sets with final scores of 25-19, 25-23, and 25-15 to beat the Big Blue 3-1. Millikin's Marissa McElroy led the match with 17 kills, as well as 3 blocks. Senior Rose Syversen led the Big Blue in Aces (3), Assists (32) and Digs (17). 

Millikin would face University of Chicago in their second match of the day, falling to the Maroons 3-0 with final scores of 25-19, 25-17, and 30-28. Freshman outside hitter Tori Stuart led the match with 10 kills and junior libero Alyssa Vignos led the match with 19 digs. 

The Big Blue return home on Friday, September 13 as they host the Millikin Fall Invitational at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois. All matches will be live streamed at athletics.millikin.edu/watch.
