Millikin Women’s Basketball Stumbles

         The Millikin women's basketball team lost to Elmhurst College 64-53 in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) action on January 22 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois.
         The Big Blue struggled through a poor shooting performance making only 33 percent (18-54) from the field and going 4-20 (20 percent) from three-point range.  Elmhurst made 38 percent (22-58) from the field and made only 2-13 (15 percent) from three-point range.  Elmhurst was 18-26 from the free throw line while Millikin went 13-22.  Millikin edged the Bluejays in the rebounding battle 41-40.
         Elmhurst lead the entire game pulling out to a 34-23 lead at halftime.
         Jordan Hildebrand led Millikin with 10 points and nine rebounds.  Bailey Coffman added 10 points. 
         Elmhurst's top scorer was Jean Kween with 19 points and seven rebounds.  Becca Gerke added 14 points.
         Millikin falls to 11-6, 4-4 while Elmhurst improves to 7-10, 2-6.
         The Big Blue start a three game road stretch at North Central on January 25 at 5 p.m.
