Big Blue Softball Extends Winning Streak to Eight

        The Millikin softball team extended its winning streak to eight straight posting wins over Defiance College (10-4) and Webster University (6-3) on March 10 in Leesburg, Florida. The Big Blue are now 8-3 after winning all eight game played at the Spring games.
        Freshman Gretchen Gould continued the hot start to her collegiate career going 3-5 against Defiance including a double. Kalli Farmer went 2-3 with three RBI while Maddie Holland added two hits.
        Freshman Bailey Coffman got the win in relief throwing six innings allowing two earned runs on nine hits.
        Marissa Roberts, Arianna Richards and Kalin Hubble each had two hits for Defiance.
        Against Webster, the Gorlocks jumped out to an early lead with three runs in the top of the first inning. The Big Blue answered with a single run in the third, four runs in the fourth and one run in the fifth.
        Skielyr Trenkle homered to start the Big Blue fourth. Farmer added a two run single to put the Big Blue out in front. Trenkle added a run scoring double in the fifth. Farmer and Grace Biondo each had two hits in the game.
        Freshman Addison Sargent was the winning pitcher in relief throwing seven hitless innings while striking out seven.
