Millikin Wins Two Games to Open Florida Trip

        The Millikin softball team picked up two wins in its first day of action at the Spring Games in Clermont, Florida. The Big Blue defeated Wartburg College 6-1 and closed out the day with a walk off win over Roger Williams 6-5.
        Against Wartburg, both teams scored in the first inning. The Big Blue would pull ahead with a single run in the third. Millikin added two insurance runs in both the sixth and seventh inning.
        Alyssa White and Skielyr Trenkle each went 2-4 with two RBI for Millikin. White homered for the Big Blue. Kalli Farmer, Gretchen Gould and Kaylee Goluch each had two hits.
        Aly Armstrong was the winning pitcher throwing seven innings allowing one unearned run on five hits with six strikeouts.
        Jenna Levine had two hits for Wartburg.
        In game two, Millikin trailed 5-1 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning. Pinch hitter Grace Biondo blasted a three run home run to start the Millikin rally. Gould had the game winning hit driving home two runs to give the Big Blue a come from behind victory.
        Gould was 2-4 with two RBI. Cassidy Knoerzer had two hits for Millikin. Gracie Brookens was the winning pitcher in relief throwing two scoreless innings.
        The two victories gave Millikin 100 wins under the direction of Co-Head Coaches Katie Tenboer and Whitney Sowers.
