Millikin Baseball Sweeps Central College

The Millikin baseball team improved to 7-1 on the season with a doubleheader sweep of Central College on March 13, 2021 at the Workman Family Baseball Field in Decatur, Illinois. Millikin won game one 7-2 and took the night cap 11-1 in seven innings.
 
Millikin struck early scoring two runs in the first inning. Kyle Kane had a one out double and scored on Brent Beals home run to straight away centerfield.  Andrew Auton had a two run double and Tommy Shaw had an RBI single in Millikin's third inning to put the Big Blue up 5-0. Auton had two doubles for the Big Blue. Tanner Coleman was 2-3 with a double.
 
Adam Zuk improved to 3-0 on the season pitching eight innings allowing on four hits and no runs while striking out 12.
 
It was all Millikin in game two. The Big Blue scored single runs in the first and third innings before breaking the game open with at four run fourth innings. Millikin added one in the fifth, three in the sixth and ended the game with a single run in the seventh inning.
 
Kyle Kane was 3-4 with two RBI to lead the Millikin attack. Gabe Soria, Frank Bryan, Shaw and Jacob Havis each had two hits for the Big Blue. Soria and Beals each drove home two runs. Coleman was the winning pitcher throwing five innings giving up two hits and one earned run with two strikeouts.
 
Millikin opens College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play on March 16 when they travel to Wheaton College.
