Millikin Baseball Sweeps Hope

          The Millikin baseball team improved to 4-0 on the season with a doubleheader sweep of Hope College on March 6 at the Workman Family Baseball Field in Decatur, Illinois. 
          Millikin won game one 7-3. The Big Blue jumped out to an early 3-0 when Frank Bryan blasted a three-run home run in the first inning. Millikin would score three more times in the fifth and one in the sixth. Hope scored in the fifth, seventh and eighth innings.
          Bryan would end the day 3-4 with a double and the home run. Kyle Kane, Tommy Shaw and Mason McGahey would all have RBI for the Big Blue.  Adam Zuk picked up his second win of the season throwing five and one-third innings allowing three hits and one earned run while striking out six. Brent Beals pitched in the final inning and a third allowing no hits and recording three strikeouts. 
          Spencer Cable led Hope going 2-5 with a triple and two RBI.
          Millikin took game two behind the stellar pitching of Caleb Buehrle who scattered six hits over eight scoreless innings while striking out seven. Jared Buzan pitched a scoreless ninth inning with two strikeouts.
          Beals was the Millikin hitting star in game two going 2-4 with a double, home run and two RBI.
          Evan Maday had three hits including two doubles for Hope.
          Millikin hosts Coe College on Sunday, March 7 for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
