Women's Tennis Downs St. Ambrose

Box Score The Millikin Women's Tennis team took on the Bees of St. Ambrose University on Sunday, March 7 at the Fairview Park Tennis Complex. The Big Blue claimed victory over the Bees with a 6-3 win.

In doubles play, the Big Blue started off with two wins at #2 and #3. Brianna Barconi and Cristina Borunda defeated Megan Schueneman and Kaylee Camp of St. Ambrose 8-2. Their second doubles win came from Destiny Galvan and Katie Cooper, who downed Lily Malas and and Saryn Seeley 8-0. Rounding out singles play, Nikol Obradovic and Shelby Jones were defeated by Meg Chadick and Kiersten Housenga.

In singles, the Big Blue took four out of six matches to secure victory over the Bees. Danielle Beard's match finished first at #6 singles, defeating Hayley Hoffman 6-0, 6-1. Jones picked up a win at #3 beating Schueneman 6-0, 6-3. Obradovic was also victorious at #1, defeating Chadick 6-0, 6-1. The final singles victory for Millikin came from Taylor Milholland, defeating Malas 6-1, 6-3 at #5.

The Big Blue Women's Tennis team improved to 2-2 on the season, and they will take the courts of Fairview Park again on Sunday, March 14 when they match up against the Pioneers of Transylvania University.
