Women's Tennis Sweeps Elmhurst on the Road

Box Score Millikin women's tennis traveled to Elmhurst, Ill. on Friday, October 14 for a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin matchup against the Bluejays of Elmhurst University. The Big Blue swept the Bluejays in the 9-0 competition.

Emily Markus and Paige Willer picked up the first victory in doubles play, winning 8-3 at No. 1. Alexandra Ristfeldt and Katarina Carlberg recorded an 8-4 victory at No. 3 doubles, and the team of D Galvan and Nikol Obradovic completed the doubles sweep with an 8-2 win at No. 2.

On the singles side, Obradovic tallied a win at No. 1 over Jolene Neuerman 6-2, 6-0. Markus notched a 6-2, 6-1 victory against Julia Kostadinova. Willer was the victor at No. 3 with a win over June Bering. Brianna Barconi picked up the win at No. 4, defeating Brynn Rubacky in twin 6-2 sets. Ristfeldt tallied a singles win at No. 5, taking the win in 6-1, 6-0 sets over Silvia Barak, and Cristina Borunda helped round out the 9-0 sweep at No. 6 with a victory over Megan Engstrom in 6-0, 6-1 sets.

With the win, the Big Blue moves to 6-1 in conference play and match up against North Park in their final regular season match at the Fairview Park Tennis Complex on Saturday, October 15.
