Women’s Soccer Falls to Carthage

The Millikin women's soccer team lost to Carthage College 3-0 on October 22 at Frank M. Lindsay Field in Decatur, Illinois.
 
The Firebirds opened the scoring in the 17th minute on a goal by Veronica Walker. Carthage had two second period goals with scores going to Maggie Thom and Lisa Traxel.
 
Millikin outshot the Firebird 13-9 but couldn't get on the scoreboard.
 
Millikin falls to 5-6-3, 3-3-1 while Carthage improves to 2-7-5, 2-4-1. Millikin is in a three-way tie for fourth place in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin standings with 10 points. The Big Blue are tied with Wheaton and Carroll College. Millikin hosts Wheaton on October 26. The Big Blue need a top six finish to make the conference tournament.
