Millikin Women’s Basketball Rolls Past Fontbonne

The Millikin women's basketball team rolled to a 97-56 win over Fontbonne University on December 19 in St. Louis.
 
The Big Blue lead 25-20 after the first quarter and blew open the game in the second quarter outscoring the Griffins 32-9 to take a 57-29 lead into the locker room at halftime. Millikin's largest lead of the game of 42 points came early in the fourth quarter.
 
Millikin was led in scoring by Emily White who scored a career high 22 points. White made her first four three-point shots and was 6-8 from the beyond the arc on the game. Elyce Knudsen had 20 points and six rebounds. Sophie Darden added 14 points and Sarah Isaf chipped in 12.
Abby Ratsch and Sarah Ness each scored eight points.
 
Madison Nelson led Fontbonne with 13 points.
 
Millikin shot 52 percent (39-75) from the field and made 11-25 (44 percent) from three-point range. Fontbonne shot 39 percent (20-51) from the field and committed 23 turnovers. Millikin won the rebounding battle 40-28.
 
Millikin extended its winning streak to six straight games and is now 9-3 on the season. Fontbonne goes to 3-6.
 
Millikin will play its final non-conference game of the season on New Year's Eve hosting Greenville University at 1 p.m.
