Millikin Men’s Basketball Rolls by Spalding

The Millikin men's basketball team defeated Spalding University 70-52 on December 31 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois.
 
Millikin led 40-19 at halftime after holding the Golden Eagles to four field goals in the first half. The Big Blue shot 49 percent (27-55) from the field while Spalding hit only 34 percent (17-50). Millikin won the rebounding battle 33-32.
 
Drake Stevenson led Millikin with a double double with 12 points and 15 rebounds along with three assists and two steals. Chase Travis added 11 points. Demarcus Bond scored nine points and JT Welch added eight.
 
Isaiah Lockard led Spalding with 17 points.
 
Millikin is now 8-5 while Spalding goes to 1-9. The game was the Big Blue's final non-conference game of the season with Millikin returning to College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) action on January 4 hosting Elmhurst University at 7 p.m.
