Millikin Baseball Completes Series Sweep

The Millikin baseball team won its fourth straight game completing a three-game sweep at Sewanee University of the South 9-7 on February 20 in Sewanee, Tennessee.
 
Millikin used a five-run rally in the ninth inning to pull out the victory.
Sewanee led 3-0 after two innings, but Millikin tied the game with a three-run third inning. The Tigers went back on top 4-3 with a run in the bottom of the fifth. The Big Blue tied the game at 4-4 with a run in the seventh inning. Sewanee went ahead with a three-run eighth inning to pull ahead 7-4 and setting the stage for Millikin's ninth inning rally.
 
Millikin opened the ninth with a single by pinch-hitter Lucas Ryan. Freshman Liam McGill tripled home Ryan to start the scoring. Tommy Shaw singled home McGill to make it a 7-6 Tigers lead. Kyle Gibson singled Shaw to second. Two wild pitches later, Shaw scored the game tying run. Garrett Fritz gave Millikin the lead with a two-run single.
 
Shaw, Gibson, Fritz and McGill each had two hits for Millikin.
 
Christian Badorek was the winning pitcher in relief throwing two-thirds of an inning with one strikeout. Aaron Agee pitched a one-two-three ninth with two strikeouts to record the save.
 
Wade Sansone had two hits and three RBI for Sewanee.
