Big Blue Baseball Drops Doubleheader to Spartans

The Millikin baseball lost both games of a doubleheader to Aurora University on March 27 at the Workman Family Baseball Field in Decatur. The Spartans won game one 11-0 in seven innings and won the night cap 6-4.
 
Game one was all Aurora behind the pitching of Jack Fisher who allowed only one hit over six innings with nine strikeouts. First baseman Justin Santori led the Aurora offense with two hits including a three-run home run and four RBI. Jett Wedekind was 2-4 with three runs scored and four RBI including a three-run double in the sixth.
 
Millikin was limited to two hits with Tanner Coleman and Keagan Brady picking up singles.
 
Aurora led 3-1 after four innings in game two and added a single run in the sixth and two runs in the eighth. Trailing 6-1, Millikin put up three runs on the board in the bottom of the ninth. Coleman had a run scoring triple and Kyle Gibson had an RBI double in the inning. Gibson had three hits and Coleman and Frank Bryan each had two hits.
 
Jack Seefeldt had three hits for Aurora. Jacob Ambuel had two hits including a home run. He scored three runs and drove home three.
 
Millikin falls to 13-6 overall while Aurora improves to 10-3.
