Big Blue Baseball Downs North Park

The Millikin baseball team defeated North Park University 10-7 on April 10 at the Workman Family Baseball Field in Decatur. With the win the Big Blue take two of three in the three-game weekend series with the Vikings.
 
Millikin opened the scoring in the first inning. Kyle Gibson leadoff with a single and later scored on a single by Garrett Fritz. Tyler Gade leadoff the Millikin third with a single. He stole second and scored on a single from Tanner Coleman. Frank Bryan had an RBI groundout in the inning to make it 3-0 Big Blue.
 
Ranko Stevanovic homered in the fourth to put the Vikings on the board.
 
Both teams scored four runs in the fifth inning. The North Park rally was highlighted by a two-run single from Alex DiVito. Millikin's inning was sparked by a two-run homer by Bryan. Bryan had the big hit in Millikin's three run sixth inning doubling home two.
 
On the game, Bryan was 2-5 with five RBI. Fritz, Gade, Coleman and Kelby Golladay each had two hits for Millikin.
 
DiVito lead the North Park offense with three hits.
 
Caleb Buehrle was the winning pitcher for Millikin going six innings allowing four earned runs on eight hits. Aaron Agee picked up the save for Millikin retiring the only batter he faced.
 
Millikin is now 15-11, 2-5 while North Park goes to 8-14, 2-2.
