Big Blue Women's Tennis Topples Titans

Box Score The Big Blue women's tennis team traveled to Bloomington, Ill. on Wednesday, September 28 for a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin matchup against the Titans of Illinois Wesleyan University. Millikin toppled the Titans in a 9-0 match.

Starting off with the first win in doubles play was the freshman team of Alexandra Ristfeldt and Katarina Carlberg at No. 3 doubles, taking an 8-0 victory over Marianna Arias and Ice Nie. Following suit at No. 2 doubles was the team of Nikol Obradovic and Taylor Milholland with an 8-0 victory over Macy Michorczyk and Andie Wilson. Rounding out the doubles sweep was Emily Markus and D Galvan, taking an 8-1 win over Kate Christian and Raji More.

On the singles side, Ristfeldt picked up the first win at No. 6, defeating Nie in twin 6-0 sets. Carlberg saw a similar fate at No. 5 with 6-0, 6-0 wins over Arias. Keeping up with the trend, Obradovic was victorious at No. 1 over Christian in two 6-0 sets. Taking the win at No. 3 singles was Milholland by a 6-0, 6-0 margin over Michorczyk. Brianna Barconi was the victor at No. 2 singles, also recording 6-0, 6-0 set wins over More. the final singles win was secured by Cristina Borunda at No. 4 singles, defeating Wilson in 6-1, 6-0 sets.

Millikin will be back in action over the weekend in St. Louis, Mo. at the ITA Tournament hosted by Washington University in St. Louis.
