The Big Blue women's volleyball team opened up their home tournament on Friday, September 30 with a sweep victory over Simpson College. Millikin improved to 11-5 overall with the win.

Leading the way at the net for the Big Blue was Tori Stuart with 10 kills, who also added three service aces. Kailee Itzenhuiser tallied eight kills and seven service aces, and Addison Oyer added nine kills. Jessi Kreder was the lead blocker with four, and Sandy Brindl tallied 16 assists. Sophia Howell tallied the top number of kills with 11.

Millikin outkilled the Storm 41-26. For Simpson, Jessica Jacobs notched 11 kills and Lexie Parks added nine.

In the three set sweep, Millikin took set one by a score of 25-17 before taking both sets two and three by a 25-18 margin.

The Big Blue will take on Central College in a game one matchup on Saturday, October 1 on day two of the Millikin Invitational. Central defeated Fontbonne in three sets in their opening matchup. The Big Blue will celebrate their seniors before taking on Fontbonne in their second game of the day.
