Four Millikin Swimmers named Academic All-District by CSC

The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the 2022-23 Academic All-District recipients for women's swimming & diving on Tuesday, February 28, recognizing the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. The Big Blue women's swim team had four athletes honored for their performances in the pool and in the classroom. 

Aly Barnes, a sophomore elementary education major from Jackson, NJ, currently has a 3.803 GPA and achieved two all-conference swims at the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Championship Meet in the 200 IM and 200 freestyle. 

Sophomore Brianna Brunk, a mathematics (pre-engineering) major from Howell, Mich. was honored after her top 16 finish in the 200 butterfly, having a 3.72 GPA. 

Shay Buchanan was also honored by the CSC, with a 3.924 overall GPA. The junior computer science major from Orlando, Fla. placed 16th in the 1650 freestyle at the conference meet.

The final athlete recognized by the CSC for academic all-district honors was Kendall Rossignol, a sophomore psychology major from Simpsonville, SC. Rossignol has a 3.93 GPA and placed eighth in the 100 breaststroke and 10th in the 200 breaststroke at the 2023 CCIW meet.
