Millikin Baseball Falls to Grizzlies

The Millikin baseball team lost to Franklin College 10-4 on March 28 at the Workman Family Baseball Field in Decatur, Illinois.
 
Millikin lead 3-2 after six innings before the Grizzlies broke the game open with an eight run seventh inning. Millikin pitchers had control issues throughout the game walking seven and hitting five Franklin batters.
 
The Big Blue were held to six hits. Millikin's Kyle Gibson reached base four times with two hits and two walks. Ryan Janssen, Sam Bushur and Liam McGill each had a hit and an RBI in the game.
 
AJ Sanders led Franklin with three hits. Noah Wood and Jonathan LaGuire each had two hits and two RBIs. Dyllan Redmon had a three-run double in the seventh.
 
Millikin goes to 13-6 on the season while Franklin improves to 12-6.
 
Millikin opens College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) play with a weekend series against Carthage College starting on Saturday, April 1 at 1 p.m. with a doubleheader.
