Baseball Falls at Elmhurst

The Millikin baseball team lost a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) road game at Elmhurst University 9-8 on April 12 in Elmhurst, Illinois.
 
The teams exchanged three-run home runs in the first inning with Kelby Golladay going deep for Millikin and Freddie March connecting for Elmhurst.
 
Millikin took a 5-3 advantage in the second inning before the Bluejays flex its power with a single run in the third on a Trey Romay home run a scored four runs in the fourth on thanks in part to homers by Ryan Thrawl and Zach Kolb.
 
Elmhurst led 9-5 late in the game, but Millikin kept fighting scoring a single run in the eighth and two in the ninth. The Big Blue fell just short leaving the bases loaded in each inning.
 
Millikin had eight hits in the game, drew 13 walks and were hit by three pitches. The Big Blue left 16 runners on base.
 
Liam McGill and Keagan Brady led the Millikin attack with two hits each. McGill walked twice.
 
Millikin is now 20-8, 6-2 while Elmhurst goes to 10-12, 2-4.
