Millikin Baseball Falls at Augustana

The Millikin baseball team lost at Augustana College 7-6 on April 23 in Rock Island, Illinois.
 
For the third straight game in the series, the Vikings rallied in the ninth inning for a walk-off victory.
 
Augustana led 4-1 after four innings, but the Big Blue tied the game at 4-4 with a three run fifth inning on a three-run home run by Andy Niebrugge.
 
Millikin pulled ahead 5-4 in the eighth inning on an RBI single from Liam McGill. Ryan Janssen's run scoring single would give Millikin a 6-4 lead in the ninth.
 
In the bottom of the ninth, Chase Maifield started the scoring with a run scoring single. With the score 6-5 Millikin and two outs Alec McGinnis had the game winning two run single.
 
Kyle Gibson remained hot for the Big Blue going 4-5. Niebrugge and Janssen each had two hits.
 
Millikin falls to 21-13, 7-6 while the Vikings improve to 26-6, 11-2.
