The Big Blue softball team defeated Waynesburg University on Friday, May 19 at the NCAA Regional in Angola, Ind. Millikin won 3-1, advancing to a rematch in their second elimination game of the day against Wartburg. The Knights lost to top-seeded host Trine in the winner's bracket game 8-0.

Zoie Bowman helped kick off the scoring, doubling to center to score
Leah Foreman in the first after Foreman reached on a walk. Bowman was responsible for the next RBI in the third, singling through the right side to plate
Lanie Chizmark and put Millikin up 2-0.Â

The Yellowjackets put up a run of their own in the seventh on a single to center by DeMark, but a popup double play to pitcher
Charly Warlow would get the Big Blue out of a first-and-third jam and end the game.Â
Bowman and
Kendallyn Davison each went 2-for-3 at the plate.
Aly Armstrong pitched six shutout innings, allowing just two hits and striking out four. Warlow earned the save in relief, pitching the final inning.Â
The rematch against Wartburg is set for a first pitch at 3:05 p.m. ET. Â
