Millikin Cross Country Opens with Victory

The Millikin men's and women's cross country team opened the 2023 season winning its own H.W. Wright Classic in Decatur, Illinois on September 1.

The Big Blue men won a three-way competition with 15 points followed by Illinois Wesleyan University with 60 and Illinois College with 69.

The Millikin women scored 23 points knocking off Illinois Wesleyan with 32.

The Millikin men swept the first seven places. Senior Bradyn Olmstead won the 6K race in 19:48.9 followed by Julio Hernandez Lopez at 20:18.1 and Edwin Monroe in third at
20:23.6. Full Big Blue results are listed below.

The Blue Big women's team took the top three spots lead by senior Quincy Collings in first in the 4K race in 15:12.3. Senior Alyssa Ruiz was second at 15:32.4 and sophomore Emma Mallory was third in 15:47.8. Full women's results at bottom of this story.
