Millikin Football Drops Homecoming Contest

The Millikin football team lost to Illinois Wesleyan University 45-17 during the Big Blue's Homecoming Celebration on September 30 at Frank M. Lindsay Field in Decatur.
 
Millikin opened the scoring early in the first quarter on a 26-yard field goal by David Ramirez.
 
The Titans then had back-to-back touchdown passes from Dermot Smyth to Tre Moore coving 26 and 47 yards to build a 13-3 advantage. Illinois Wesleyan made it a 21-3 advantage on a 58-yard punt return from Marco Palaganas.
 
Millikin quarterback Aidan Lombardo was 12-30 passing 104 yards connecting on two fourth quarter touchdowns. Aiden Whitlock had a four yard touchdown reception and Don Starling scored from 25 yards out.
 
Matthew Salazar led the Millikin rushing attack with 88 yards on 17 carries.
 
Illinois Wesleyan had 258 yards of total offense with Millikin gaining 181 yards.
 
James Paradee led the Millikin defense with six tackles and a fumble recovery with Charles Jackson and Saevion Brent each contributing five stops. Sean Steele had an interception for the Big Blue.
 
Millikin falls to 0-4, 0-3 while the Titans go to 1-3, 1-2.
