#10 Women's Volleyball Picks up Two More Sweeping Victories in Michigan

The #10 Big Blue women's volleyball team continued their tour of Michigan heading to Holland, Mich. for matchups with Baldwin Wallace and Swarthmore at the Hope College October Tournament. 

Millikin earned two more sweeps to top off their 3-0 win of Calvin on Friday night with two sweeps on Saturday, October 12. In their first match against Baldwin Wallace (25-20, 25-18, 25-18) they outkilled BW 51-36 and led the digs battle 61-56. 

Kailee Itznehuiser was the kills leader with 16, and Delaney Higgins tallied 11. Elle Richards added 10. Alyssa Frederking tallied a career-high seven service aces in the matchup. Gracie Shaffer was the assists leader with 20, and Frederking added 19. Defensively, Itzenhuiser recorded the top number of kills with 16, and Sophia Howell notched 15. Kyra Carothers was credited with four blocks.

For Baldwin Wallace, Brinn MacLellan tallied 10 kills.

In their second matchup of the day, Mllikin downed Swarthmore (25-18, 25-19, 25-18). Itzenhuiser once again led the way offensively with 13 kills, and Higgins notched 11. Howell recorded five service aces. Shaffer added 21 assists to her career totals, and Frederking added 19. Kaitlyn Skowronski was the top digs getter with 12. 

Keira Miles totaled 10 kills for Swarthmore in a game where the Big Blue won the kills battle 42-34. 

With their three sweeps on the weekend, the Big Blue improved to 22-3 on the season. MU will travel to Kenosha, Wis. for a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin matchup on Wednesday, October 16 for their next contest.
