Big Blue Football Falls at Carroll

The Millikin football team lost at Carroll University 49-14 on October 5 in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
 
The Pioneers lead 7-0 after the first quarter and then scored three second quarter touchdowns to go up 28-0.
 
Millikin got on the board with 1:58 left in the half on a 28-yard touchdown pass from Aidan Lombardo to Chord Miller.
 
Carroll added another score in the final minute to lead 35-7 at halftime.
 
Millikin's final touchdown came in the fourth quarter on a six-yard run by Lombardo.
 
Lombardo was 13-32-1 passing for 172 yards. Matthew Salazar had 82 yards rushing on five carries.
 
Running back Marcus Johnson led Carroll with 139 yards rushing on 13 carries with three touchdowns. Quarterback Caden Pendleton was 11-20-1 passing for 134 yards and one touchdown.
 
Alex Araiza led Millikin with five tackles including two tackles for a loss. Sean Steele had an interception for Millikin.
 
Carroll had 455 yards of total offense while the Big Blue gained 302. Millikin was hurt by turnovers losing one interception and three fumbles.
 
Millikin returns home on Saturday, October 12 to host number one North Central College at 1 p.m.
