Women’s Basketball Drops Home Contest

The Millikin women's basketball team lost to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville 60-47 on December 14 in the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois.
 
Millikin struggled shooting the basketball connecting on only 32 percent (18-56) from the field. The Pioneers made 22-53 (41.5) percent from the field and won the rebounding battle 38-35.
 
The Big Blue trailed 30-17 at halftime. Millikin outscored the Pioneers 23-18 in the third quarter to keep the game close, but Platteville closed out the fourth quarter with a 12-7 scoring edge.
 
Freshman Nikkel Johnson led Millikin with 13 points and eight rebounds. Kyleigh Block added 11.
 
Ella Mackiewicz led the Pioneers with a double double with15 points and 10 rebounds.
