Big Blue Baseball Wins Third Straight

The Millikin baseball team made it three straight during his Arkansas trip defeating Dominican University 14-6 on February 25 at Hendrix College in Conway, Ark.
 
Millikin pounded out 18 hits in the game. The Big Blue scored four in the third to jump out to an early lead. After the Stars posted three in the top of the fourth, Millikin answered with a one in the fourth and three in the fifth. Leading 8-6, Millikin broke open the game with a six run seventh inning.
 
Leadoff hitter Tommy Shaw lead the Millikin attack with three hits and five RBI. Liam McGill also had three hits. Andy Niebrugge, Sam Bushur, Hayden Stork, Kameron Ross and Tyler Gade each had two hits.
 
Brody Stonecipher was the winning pitcher in relief throwing two and one-third innings allowing two hits and one earned run. Max Simpson pitched the final two shutout innings allowing three hits.
 
Zachary Helein and Matthew Galdi each had three hits for the stars.
 
Millikin is now 3-3 and will play its home opener on Saturday, March 2 against Coe College at the Workman Family Baseball Field at 2 p.m.
