Millikin Baseball Opens Weekend with Victory

The Millikin baseball team opened a weekend set of games with a 7-4 win over Concordia-Wisconsin at the Workman Family Baseball Field on March 15.
 
Trailing 1-0 in the second, the Big Blue scored four runs in the bottom of the inning to take control of the game. Ryan Janssen started the scoring for Millikin with a two run single. Kolby Koslofski made it a 3-1 game with a run scoring single. Tyler Gade had a sacrifice fly to close out the scoring in the second.
 
The Big Blue added a run in the fifth on an RBI single from Kyle Gibson. Millikin scored two more in the sixth with Liam McGill driving home a run with a base hit and Gibson contributing a sacrifice fly.
 
Brynden Cleveland, Cole Aguirre, Ryan Le and Sterling Armstrong each had two hits and an RBI for Concordia-Wisconsin.
 
Caleb Buehrle was the winning pitcher for Millikin throwing five innings allow two runs on five hits while striking out seven. Sean Shook picked up the save.
 
Millikin (7-6) will play Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Saturday at 12 p.m. and Benedictine University on Sunday at 2 p.m.
