Women's Tennis Defeats SWIC

The women's team was dominant with the take down of Southwestern Illinois College, on Saturday, March 2nd at Fairview Park. The Big Blue took down SWIC 5-1 to improve to 4-9 overall on the season.

Emily Markus and D Galvan were victorious at No.1 doubles, taking down SWIC's No.1 8-2. Cristina Borunda and Mckenna O'Donnell added another win at No.2 doubles with a final score of 8-3.

With a 2-0 lead heading into singles play, Markus continued a hot streak by earning her second win of the day, with a 6-0,6-0 sweep at No. 1. Borunda also continued her win streak by earning a 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2. Kaitlyn Mullins earned her first win of the day at No. 3 singles. Mullins earned a 6-4, 6-2 win that secured the match for the Big Blue.

The women's team is back at Fairview Park on April 5th to take on Webster University for Senior Day. The Big Blue will be celebrating three seniors with a TBA start time.
