Baseball Falls at Carthage

The Millikin baseball team dropped a conference road game at Carthage College 3-1 on March 29 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The two teams will square off in a doubleheader on Saturday.
 
Carthage scored the first run of the game in the sixth inning on a run scoring single from Joe Zuleger.
 
Millikin tied the game in the eighth. Liam McGill opened the inning with a walk and scored on a Carthage error.
 
The Firebirds scored the game winning runs in the eighth on a two run double from Zuleger.
 
Carthage limited Millikin to one hit in the game with Tommy Shaw having the Big Blue's lone hit. Bryce Schaum was the winning pitcher throwing eight innings allowing one hit while striking out 11. Jake Pappagallo picked up the save.
 
Millikin starter Matt Wilson working his way back from an injury pitched three innings allowing two hits.
 
Carthage improves to 12-3, 1-0 while Millikin goes to 10-10, 1-1.
