Millikin Baseball Drops Twin Bill

The Millikin baseball team lost a doubleheader to Lawrence University on March 9 at the Workman Family Baseball Field in Decatur, Illinois. The Vikings won game one 11-1 and took the second game 8-7 in 10 innings.
 
Game one was all Lawrence as the Vikings pounded out 14 hits while holding Millikin to just three base hits. Parker Knoll led the Vikings with three hits and Jacob Charon had two hits including a home run and five RBI.
 
Millikin jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the second game after three innings. Lawrence battled back with one in the fourth, one in the sixth and two in the and two in the seventh. Trailing 5-4, the Vikings scored three runs in the top of the ninth to pull ahead. Millikin responded with two in the bottom of the inning to tie the game at 7-7 and send it to extra innings.
 
Charon and Edan Perez each had three hits including a home run for the Vikings with Perez hitting the go ahead home run in the ninth.
 
Tyler Gade had three hits for Millikin in game two and Liam McGill and Kyle Gibson each added two.
 
Millikin is now 6-6 on the season while Lawrence improves to 7-1.
