Men's Tennis Picks up CCIW Win over Elmhurst

The Big Blue men's tennis team matched up against the Bluejays of Elmhurst on Saturday, April 27 in Decatur, Ill.

Millikin picked up their first CCIW victory of the season, winning 8-1 over Elmhurst. At 1 doubles, the team of Cole Phillips and Theodor Wolf downed Ben Cavka and Russell Reyes in an 8-0 match. Esteban Durand and Matthew Kordesh teamed up for the second doubles win at #2 with an 8-4 win over Emiliano Montenegro and Muhammad Salman. Jacob Bloom and Joe Smiley were credited with the third doubles win by default. 

Phillips was the victor at #1 singles, downing Cavka 6-2, 6-3. Wolf beat Montenegro 6-0, 6-1 at #2. Kordesh won at #3 6-1, 7-6 with a 7-1 tiebreaker. 

Bloom fell at #4, and Durand and Smiley each picked up singles wins by default.
