Bushur Grand Slam Lifts Big Blue to Extra Inning Victory

Millikin's Sam Bushur's 11th inning grand slam lifted Millikin baseball to a 12-8 win at Elmhurst University on April 28 in Elmhurst, Illinois.
 
The win improves Millikin's record to 24-13 overall and 14-3 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) keeping the Big Blue in a first- place tie in the conference standings with the North Park Vikings.
 
Millikin jumped out to an early 4-0 in the top of the fourth. Elmhurst then scored six straight runs over the next three innings to take a 6-4 advantage. Millikin scored three in the seventh and a single run in the eighth to take an 8-6 lead. Elmhurst's Zach Kolb tied the game at 8-8 with a two-run home run in the eighth.
 
Bushur finished the game going 4-5 with five RBI and two runs scored. Andy Neibrugge had three hits including a home run and scored four runs.
Tommy Shaw had three hits including a home run. Kyle Gibson and Liam McGill each had three hits and two RBI.
 
Griffin Neuweg was the winning pitcher throwing the final two scoreless innings.
 
Marty Fraga had four hits for Elmhurst. Freddi March, Jaden Mitchell and Blake Gould each had two hits. Gould homered and drove in three runs.
