Millikin Baseball Wins Third Straight

The Millikin baseball team won its third straight College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) road game defeating Augustana College 5-0 in Moline, Illinois on April 5.
 
After cold and rainy weather postponed the game for two straight days, the Big Blue got a stellar pitching performance limiting the Vikings to just two hits in the game. Starter Caleb Buehrle earned the win throwing six shutout innings allowing only one hit while striking out two. Drew Sutton picked up the save pitching the final three innings allow no runs on one hit.
 
The Millikin offense pounded out 11 hits with Tyler Gade, Tommy Shaw, Ryan Janssen and Sam Bushur each collecting two hits. Andy Neibrugge had one hit and walked three times. Janssen had an RBI double in the first and a run scoring single in the third. Kameron Ross doubled home two insurance runs in the eighth. Shaw had a bases loaded walk for Millikin's final run.
 
Millikin is now 13-10, 4-1 while Augustana goes to 15-7, 2-2. The Big Blue will host Elmhurst University on Sunday, April 7 at 2 p.m. at the Workman Family Baseball Field.
