Millikin Baseball Rolls Past Elmhurst

The Millikin baseball team defeated Elmhurst University 12-2 in eight innings at the Workman Family Baseball Field in Decatur, Illinois on April 8.
 
Millikin is now 14-10 overall and 5-1 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW). Elmhurst falls to 6-17, 2-5.
 
The Big Blue's 12 runs came on 16 hits, five walks, two hit by pitches, a balk and three Bluejays' errors. Millikin had six stolen bases in the game.
 
Millikin scored a in seven of the eight innings played. The Big Blue had one run in the first, two in the second and one in the third. Millikin scored two in the fifth, one in the sixth, two in the seventh and three in the eighth to end the game early.

Kameron Ross
Freshman Kameron Ross led the Millikin attack going 4-5 including a double with three runs scored and three driven in along with four stolen bases. Ryan Janssen went 3-3 with two walks scoring two runs and driving in one. Kyle Gibson had two hits and a pair of RBI. Hayden Stork and Liam McGill each had two hits and Tyler Gade had a hit with two RBI.
 
Drew Detmers was the winning pitcher for Millikin throwing seven innings allowing four hits and two runs.
 
Rock Smith drove home the two Elmhurst runs with a double.
 
Millikin will host North Central College on Tuesday, April 8 at 6 p.m.
