Softball Splits in Opening CCIW Doubleheader at Augustana

The Big Blue softball team traveled to Rock Island, Ill. on Saturday, April 6 for their opening College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin doubleheader against Augustana College. Millikin split, falling in game one 0-6 then winning game two 4-0. 

In game one, Ava Zukowski was 2-for-3 with two doubles at the plate. 

In game two, a Leah Foreman double in the bottom of the first inning scored Rylee Blake. Foreman later crossed the plate on an RBI single to left field off the bat of Maddy Regan in the first. In the third, a two RBI double off the bat of Zukowski scored Katlyn Schrader and Regan. 

Zukowski went 2-for-3 at the plate again in game two. Kelsey Bruno earned the win in the circle with a complete game shutout, allowing just one hit and striking out six. 

The Big Blue softball team will travel again on Wednesday, April 10 for a doubleheader against Illinois Wesleyan University to continue their CCIW schedule.
